Deo Scerri

Deo Scerri is one of the founding partners of RSM Malta and is currently the Managing Partner. He was previously the deputy managing partner of one of the big four. Deo has extensive experience in providing audit and advisory services to companies operating in diverse industry sectors including manufacturing, hospitality, public sector, retail and others. Over the years Deo has managed various advisory assignments including business valuations for privatisation purposes, merger and acquisition deals and corporate recovery and re-structuring. Deo is also involved in assisting clients in sourcing funds from banks and other sources.

Deo is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
 
Deo is a member of UEFA Club Licensing Board of the Malta Football Association and was appointed to sit on the Finance Committee of the same Association.

 

Maria Micallef

Maria Micallef  is one of the founding partners of RSM Malta and is currently the partner in charge of assurance, risk management and business advisory services in the firm. She was previously a partner with one of the big four working in the business advisory and risk management sectors. Maria has extensive experience in servicing local and international clients across a wide range of industry sectors including remote gaming, retail, hospitality, communications and manufacturing. Maria specialises in assurance related work including audit of financial statements, internal audit, due diligence, reviews, compilation reports and in business advisory services including financial reporting, performance reviews, feasibility studies and business re-structuring . She currently heads the unit within RSM that provides dedicated professional services to remote gaming operators.

Maria has a B.A. Hons Accountancy degree and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, a member of the US Institute of Internal Auditors and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Maria is currently a Council member of the Institute of Accountants and chairs the Education Committee of the Institute.

 

George Gregory

George Gregory is one of the founding partners of RSM Malta and is currently the partner in charge of tax and corporate services of the firm. In this role George advises international clients on appropriate tax structures. He was previously a big four firm partner providing business advisory and IT advisory services to local and international clients. George worked on a number of overseas assignments relating to Sarbanes Oxley reviews for global companies.

George currently oversees all services provided by RSM Malta to companies operating in the financial services sector. 

George is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and has a Diploma in Fund Administration. He is also a member of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners.

 

Vladimiro Comodini

Vladimiro Comodini is the partner in charge of the Outsourcing, Compliance, Information Systems Assurance and Advisory units of the firm. Prior to joining RSM Malta in 2005, as a business advisory manager, Vladimiro worked with one of the big four firms on long term secondments overseas.

Vladimiro specialises in commercial systems evaluations, development and implementation, particularly of Accounting and Finance systems, IT Security Audits as well as business process re-engineering. He also has extensive experience in remote gaming and is heavily involved in providing pre-certification and compliance services to remote gaming operators.

Vladimiro is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. He is also CISA certified.

Vladimiro is currently the Vice President of the ISACA Malta Chapter (Information Systems Audit and Control Association).

 

Joe Ellul Falzon

Joe Ellul Falzon is a partner within the assurance and business advisory services unit at RSM Malta and is currently the Head of Audit. Joe previously served as audit manager with a big four firm, and has extensive experience in the audit of financial statements.

Joe provides audit services to a local and international client base across a wide range of industry sectors including financial services, remote gaming, and public authorities and entities. He has also participated in other assurance assignments including financial and operational reviews and due diligence exercises. 

Joe is a certified public accountant with a post graduate qualification in advanced European economics from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. He holds a B.A. Hons. Accountancy degree from the University of Malta and sits on various committees of the Malta Institute of Accountants, of which he is a member. Joe is also a member of the local Institute of Financial Services.

Joe is responsible for ethics, independence and training within RSM. He has delivered training sessions both in Malta and abroad, including the provision of IFRS training to RSM International’s IFRS Champions Group, of which he is an active member.
